Monte
El viento, los pájaros, los peces, el Paraná y sobre todo los árboles, son los protagonistas de esta ficción que Ciro Korol desarrolla alrededor del monte nativo santafesino. Pero no se trata de una iconografía ornamental o simplemente un compendio de nombres. Chañar. Algarrobo. Espinillo. Higuerón. Sino al contrario: en la construcción de estos personajes se puede rastrear la naturaleza de las especies y de las problemáticas que atraviesan, incluyendo incendios, deforestación e indiferencia. "Acá en el humedal nos queman para dar de comer a las vacas", denuncia la sauce en una fantástica asamblea de árboles que se comunican bajo tierra, a través de sus raíces. Ombú. Aguaribay. Timbú. Ñangapiré. Y es la quebracha con su sabia voz quien lanza al viento un mensaje de esperanza: Aunque esta noche sea oscura/ sale la luna en la orilla/ y en esta tierra dura/ es donde planto mi semilla.
The wind, the birds, the fishes, the Paraná river and above all the trees are the main characters of this
fiction that Ciro Korol develops around the native forest of Santa Fe. But they are not an ornamental iconography or a simple compendium of names. In the construction of these characters, one can trace
the nature of the species and the problems they face, including fires, deforestation and indifference. “Here in the wetland they burn us to feed the cows”, denounces the willow tree in a fantastic assembly of trees that communicate underground, through their roots. But the Quebracho tree is the wise voice that throws a message of hope to the wind: Although this night is dark/ the moon rises on the shore/ and in this hard earth/ is where I plant my seed.
